Cindy
Cindy joined us as a part time cashier back in 2011 to help us with the Christmas season. She has been with us since then, making the switch to a full time cashier in end 2014. Prior to this, Cindy had accumulated 4 years of experience as a wait staff in the food and beverage industry before taking several years off to care for her children.
Cindy’s eldest son is now 16 years old and her daughters, 14 and 9. Living with them in Yishun, Cindy makes it a point to head home immediately after work so that she can spend quality time with them. During her free time, Cindy enjoys Korean dramas and Chinese romance novels. When I asked her how many bookshelves she has, she politely replied that bookshelves do not offer enough storage space. All her novels are stored in carton boxes instead (she has hundreds of such Chinese romance novels). With the popularity of e-books these days, she has stopped buying printed ones but moved to e-books instead.

Her favourite food seems to tell that she is a typical Singaporean (like me)! BBQ seafood, sambal kangkong and durians are her favourite! She added that she also buys a lot of cold-cuts and sausages for her growing children to snack on. The things she wouldn’t eat are celery, parsley and coriander. Having worked for Huber’s for a total of 4 years, what she finds enjoyable working here is the pleasant environment and the colleagues.
