[post event] Chef Seki Takuma - 1st Aug 2016

Chef Seki Takuma, Master Chef at IKYU, conducted a cooking demonstration for our card members on Saturday 30th July 2016. On the menu were Beef Tartare - Japanese style, Pork Gyoza and Rack of Lamb Shio Koji. Members watched as Chef Seki put together a Beef Tartarte with julienned pears, pine nuts and Japanese BBQ sauce, something different from the European Beef Tartare we often have. We also learnt how to prepare the filling for Pork Gyoza - Tokyo style and how to have it crispy on one side and moist on the other. The lamb rack was marinated overnight with shio koji, a new ingredient for most of us. 


Chef Seki definitely has his charm as we had several customers in the standing room watching him and eager to sample the food. Most of the products he used in the recipes may be found in our store. To get the recipes, stay tuned. We will be sharing his recipes in our subsequent newsletters.
