David will have to go on stage this year at our company dinner – to receive his fifth year anniversary certificate. David, our butcher based in the factory, joined us in June 2012. Since then, he has been based in our factory at Pandan Loop portioning meats from whole pieces to individual portions, making burger patties, and manning the slicing machine.

A typical day for David starts at 7am in the factory and ends at 4pm. On Saturday, he finishes at 11am. As he lives alone, he tends to buy take-outs most of the time. His place is near to Boon Lay Market which has a popular nasi lemak stall that operates from the late afternoon till late. This is actually one of his favourite foods.
His other favourite foods include chicken rice, kway teow, niang toufu and the notorious fruit, durian. If you are planning to make a trip to Boon Lay Market, be sure to also try the barbeque stingray (the stall facing the shopping mall) and the satay. Both stalls have been around for decades and have their respective faithful followers
David is a man of few words. He seldom appears infront of the camera (the last time he was infront of a camera was more than 20 years ago) or is seldom seen laughing out loud. All he asks for is good health and a quiet life.
