Ivan Teo - 4th May 2018
Ivan joined the Huber’s family as our sales executive (wholesale)
in 2016 after seven years in the hospitality industry. He decided then
to put into use two of his strengths – cooking and talking. Ivan has a strong interest in cooking and working at Huber’s
helped him to gain more cooking knowledge as he deals with many chefs from
various restaurants.

Ivan’s job includes forming corporate relationships with new wholesale customers while maintaining relationships with his existing ones.
On a typical work day, he meets with 3 to 5 customers (potential and
existing), offering advices, tips and suggestions on how to use our meats and meat products.
He sees himself as a “meat consultant” than a sales person for his genuine
intention is to solve the customer’s issues and not to sell any products.
The biggest challenge for him when he was new to the company was memorising all the
different meat cuts (a total of about 30 just
for beef alone!) available at Huber’s
and how to use them. Although he is familiar with almost all the meat cuts now, he
finds himself still learning new things every day. As he interacts with numerous chefs during the course of his work, he gets to hear and watch them in action, our veteran butchers also happily share meat tips with him
At home, Ivan is always the man behind the grill, he loves
BBQ! His wife and friends are more than happy to be his ‘guinea pigs’. He usually conducts his experiments at his friend’s place with booze - Japanese rice wine, sake. His current favourite now is sake.
Ivan married three years ago, the year he joined Huber’s. He met her in university when he was a
student and she was working as an administrator in the same school. Ivan makes an effort to bring his wife to the various F&B outlets
we supply to.

Ivan enjoys traditional food from the different
Chinese dialect groups. As a Hokkien himself, it saddens him to see that the
rich culture from these dialect groups slowly fading away. His
dream is to start a small traditional Chinese restaurant so that he can bring back all the forgotten traditional Chinese food to the table.
