Jessie, who is in the sales administrative department at Pandan Loop, is deliberate about finding work near her residence so that she can better care for the family. She used to cook almost every day for the family. But now that the children have grown up and are hardly home for dinner, Jessie would rather buy take-aways or eat out with her husband.

Jessie met her husband at the age of 17. She was in Singapore for a holiday when she met him through common friends. They then kept in touch through letters, writing to and fro for 12 years until they married when she turned 29. Then she applied to be a Singapore Permanent Resident, and eventually grew her roots in Singapore.

Jessie worked for close to 20 years in a printing firm prior to joining Hubers. The company folded and she joined Hubers in July 2015. As a sales administrator, a typical day for her includes generating invoices promptly so that the drivers may leave the factory armed with all the accompanying invoices, and answering telephone enquiries from chefs.
