Jien Yap is part of the production team at Huber’s factory
that looks after the first stage of production. As how he slices and weighs
sausages would affect the other stages of the production line, it is crucial
that he sets it right. Apart from production, Jien Yap also has to manage his
daily duties of stock replenishment and preparation for operations the next
day.
He enjoys working at Huber’s as he shares a strong bond with
his colleagues here. He also appreciates the autonomy from his superior which
he thrives on to excel and shine at his work.

Q: Tell us something you miss about your
hometown.
A: I enjoy a good kaya toast. My
hometown is in Kluang, Johor, and one iconic kaya toast eateries there is
Kluang Rail Coffee. They serve Hainanese style coffee and kaya toast (the brown
kaya version) since 1938.

Q: Having
worked at Huber’s for a few years, could you tell us what your favourite meat
at Huber’s is?
A: My favourite meat at Huber’s is the
coarse chicken cheese sausage because of the unique texture and the savoury
cheese taste.

Q: What makes your day happy?
A: I do not play any musical
instruments but I enjoy listening to classical music. It is my favourite music
genre because it livens up my mood while sounding calming and relaxing at
times.

Q: Any plans for travelling?
A: Yes! I am planning to go Taiwan next
year for hiking and to enjoy the scenic and gorgeous natural landscapes there.

Q: If money were not a concern, where else
would you like to travel to?
A: If money were not a concern, I want
to visit South Pole to see penguins live in action in their natural habitat.
That could be an eye-opening and an once-in-a-lifetime experience.

you could be a rock star, a soccer player or the president of a country, which
would you want to be?
A: Soccer
player. I enjoy exercising and I prefer leading an active lifestyle.
