Chan Wei Sian - 1st Jan 2020

Another awesome person in our team of delivery drivers, the
ever-so-cheerful Wei Sian, currently stays in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and takes a
2-hour commute to travel to Singapore for work every day.
Yet, he has been a part of the Huber’s family for almost 4
years.
It is the sense of closeness and camaraderie he shares with
the delivery team that keeps him going to deliver his best (yes, pun intended).
In fact, being a delivery driver is not an easy-breezy job.
Wei Sian believes that driving around for hours requires him to be in good
shape to stay alert. Hence, he likes to visit the gym after work and lift
weights to keep himself in tip-top form as well as to de-stress after a day’s
work.

Q: Share with us something about yourself that most people
probably wouldn’t know.
A: I
stay in Johor Bahru, but my kampong is actually in Segamat, Malaysia, which is
even farther than Johor Bahru – 180 km away! I make sure to go back there once
every week during the weekends.
---------------------------------------------
Q: Tell us more about your family!
A: A
wife and two kids! The oldest one is almost five and the youngest one is around
three.
---------------------------------------------
Q: Do you cook for your family?
A: …
Sometimes (laugh)! I like Chinese recipes, especially Yang Zhou fried rice.
---------------------------------------------
Q: What is your favourite meat at Huber’s?
A: I’ve
been trying out different items over my past few years here, and my favourite
so far is the chicken cheese sausage or streaky bacon.
---------------------------------------------
Q: Beef, chicken, or pork?
A: Beef
– more protein!
---------------------------------------------
Q: Are you a dog or cat person?
A: Dog
person! My dogs greet me on the front door with their tails wagging when I go
back to my kampong – one of the best things I look forward to when I go home
every time.
---------------------------------------------
Q: Tell us about a happy encounter you experienced while
working at Huber’s?
A: Too
many to mention, but the chefs at the butchery are especially fun to work with
– they have great sense of humour, and every now and then they will give me
tips on how to cook different types of meat.
