Franziskaner Weissbier - 1st Nov 2020

“Crisp, malty
Franziskaner is a true classic among German Wheat Beers”
The original
Franziskaner Weissbier (wheat beer) from Bavaria, Germany from the legendary
Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu brewery is a definite classic among fans of authentic
German beers! Fruity, malty, and elegantly hopped – Franziskaner Weissbier is
only brewed in Munich according to Bavarian Purity Law from 1516, following a
brewing recipe that has remained unchanged since.
The classic 5.0%
alc/vol. Franziskaner Weissbier is a naturally unfiltered and elegant Bavarian
wheat beer with a golden colour and a lush white foam. Its scent is aromatic
and its flavour is richly packed with citrusy, grassy, herbal hops and a warm,
bready cereal malt character followed with delicate bitterness. Due to its
higher carbonic acid content, Franziskaner Weissbier is particularly sparkling
with a lively carbonation that results in a superb thirst-quenching
refreshment.
Suitable for all
occasions, the naturally cloudy Franziskaner Weissbier is just the thing you
need for a relaxing break after work, at the bar, or even at home,
German-style. It’s also the ideal choice of drink for food pairing with fish or
red meat dishes – preferably straight from the grill! If you’re not convinced
yet, treat yourself to a fresh bottle of Franziskaner Weissbier paired with our
delicious steaks and sausages at Huber’s Bistro!
Franziskaner’s
Pouring Ritual
Every serving of
Franziskaner Weissbier should follow these steps to achieve the ultimate
Bavarian Weissbier experience:
1.
Franziskaner should always be served at 6oC in its own
unique glass which helps to preserve the beer’s aroma and create the perfect
foamy head.
2.
To fully appreciate the flavour of Franziskaner, first rinse the glass
thoroughly with cool water, and check if the water runs uniformly down the
entire surface.
3.
When pouring, first hold the glass at a 45o angle and
gradually straighten the glass. But don’t pour the whole bottle! Leave a rest
of the beer in the bottle and gently swirl it. This way, the yeast can spread
evenly helping to create a perfect foam head.
4.
Add the rest of the beer by pouring it vertically into the glass. Now
you can enjoy your wonderfully fresh Franziskaner Weissbier!
Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu
Franziskaner’s
wheat beers from Bavaria, Germany tell a rich history in their flavour, dating
back to the oldest privately-owned brewery in Munich in 1363!
The origins of
‘Weissbier’ themselves go back to ancient times, when the art of brewing became
a privilege of the Bavarian ruling noblemen in the Middle Ages. The name
Franziskaner itself is derived from a Franciscan monastery, in which the oldest
privately owned brewery in Munich was founded next to. This is why the quality
of Franziskaner Weissbier is exemplified by a monk on every bottle; the monk is
a key symbol for Franziskaner’s brewing expertise and tradition, which is
associated with not only deep mastery, but also calmness and serenity.
