Patritti Wines - 1st Jan 2021
The award-winning South Australia-based Patritti is
internationally acknowledged for their premium wines, rare grape varieties, and
an incredibly diverse, extensive range. Patritti has won the coveted red
five-star winery status by international wine icon James Halliday, and
maintains this ranking by receiving over 90 points for multiple wines each
year. Recently, Patritti has also taken out the coveted International Wine and
Spirit Competition's award for the world's most beautiful wine bottle!
The high production standard which Patritti holds clearly
translates to the quality of their wines; their mature, high-quality vineyards
spread across South Australia consistently produce excellent fruit for the
family's own wines since 1960. By 1969, twenty-five acres of Shiraz had been
planted on the ancient 56-million-year-old soil known as North Maslin sand, in
which the 156-metre elevation and natural balance give the site an identity of
its own. As the suburban Adelaide's only 100% family-owned, fully operational
winery, Patritti was given the custodianship to the world-famous Marion
Vineyard in 2006, which they take with great honour and pride.
Huber’s Butchery is proud to host 8 of Patritti’s
distinguished labels:
- Patritti JPB Single Vineyard
Shiraz
A seamlessly integrated palate with plum and blue fruits,
typical of the Blewitt Springs region, work well with the subtle coffee and
dark chocolate. The wine has great structure and a long finish that will drink
well now or develop in the cellar. Great pairing with grilled beef ribs and
beef bourguignon.
- Patritti Merchant Sauvignon Blanc
Tropical notes of lychee, passionfruit and mango with
freshly cut grass and subtle lime. The palate is super fresh, long and zippy.
Tropical flavours initially fill the mouth, then fresh citrus persist long
after the wine is swallowed. Great pairing with lemon sole and goat cheese.
- Patritti Merchant Pinot Grigio
The nose is alive with aromas of white peach, apple and
pear. A crisp and lively palate is dominated by flavours of white peach and
pear that's subtly creamy, and delicately refreshing. Great pairing with chili prawns, walnut salad, and charcuterie.
- Patritti Merchant Chardonnay
Light pale straw in colour with a light green tint. Fruit
aromas of citrus and white peach with honeysuckle, lemon curd and subtle toast
from barrel fermentation and maturation on yeast lees. The palate is complex,
textural and structured with vibrant acidity working with stone fruit flavours.
Great pairing with grilled spicy chicken wings and crab with butter.
- Patritti Grenache Shiraz
Deep ruby red in colour this wine is complex and lifted.
Aromas of cherry and raspberry blend with notes of menthol, eucalypt and spice
that are so distinctive to this vineyard. The palate is medium bodied and the
tannin structure is supportive of the rich fruit flavours allowing them to
linger in the mouth long after the wine is swallowed. Great pairing with
grilled beef steak, served with mushroom sauce.
- Patritti Section 181 Grenache
Medium to deep brick red with a ruby hue; the aromatics of
the wine are intense and complex with lifted fruit characters of raspberry and
black cherry. The palate is rounded and juicy, the structural tannins keep it
tight, but the wine is balanced and generous. Great pairing with prime rib
steak and cassoulet.
- Patritti Merchant Shiraz
A classic McLaren Vale style with raspberry, plum and
blackcurrant fruit flavours. Oak and fruit tannins are integrated and balanced
giving great line, length and structure. This wine will develop and mature in
harmony over the coming decades. Great pairing with roast leg of lamb and BBQ
spare ribs.
- Patritti Lot Three Shiraz
A seamlessly integrated palate with plum and blue fruits,
typical of the Blewitt Springs region, work well with the subtle coffee and
dark chocolate. The wine has great structure and a long finish that will drink
well now or develop in the cellar. Great pairing with lamb tagine or roast leg
of lamb.
