ING SUN HWA - 1st Jan 2021
A warm personality whom our wholesale
customers will have the pleasure of meeting together with their deliveries, Ing Sun Hwa (or Ah Hwa, as we like to call
him!) has been a part of Huber’s delivery team for 4 years, and it seems he
hasn’t run out of smiles to give.
A man of the outdoors, Ah Hwa seems unable to be contained in
a room for too long. When he’s not driving around the country making sure
Huber’s customers get the meats they need for a nice wholesome meal, Ah Hwa would spend his free time travelling and
fishing – two of his favourite things to do! Skilled with the fishing rod and
frying pan alike, Ah Hwa loves to share his favourite ways of cooking his catch
of the day, and this time he’d like to share them with you dear readers!
Read on more to learn about Ah Hwa and his fascinating life
on the road and by the sea…

- What do you look forward to the most this
year?
I would love to finally be able to go home (in Johor Bahru)
for a family reunion! Currently, I’m staying in Singapore while my family
members are back home.
- You spend most days making sure meats are
delivered around Singapore as efficiently as possible – what’s the meat
you’d like to get for yourself from Huber’s?
Since Chinese New Year is coming up, I’m planning to get the
Australian pork belly which I can roast or braise in soy sauce!
- Speaking of Chinese New Year, what’s your plan
for the upcoming holiday?
I will spend the time with my family via video call. I
sincerely hope that we soon will be able to resume our normal lives, so that I
can go home to gather with my family.
- We’ve heard that you like to travel. What’s
the most beautiful place you’ve ever visited?
It has to be Redang island in Malaysia, which we’ll have to
take a boat to. The crystal-clear sea and the fine, white sand simply mesmerised me
.
- We’ve also heard you are an avid fisherman.
Any local fishing spot you’d recommend to fellow fishing enthusiasts?
I always go to Bedok Jetty, which has a good sea breeze
blowing and great catches as well.
- What’s the biggest catch you’ve had?
I don’t like to catch big fish – I normally like to catch
less than 1kg. That being said, my favourite catch to this day is a red
snapper!
- Any preferred method of cooking your catch of
the day?
Either deep fried or steam. For a nice Chinese flavour, I
use garlic, oyster sauce, light soy sauce, fish sauce, bean sauce, a little bit
of sugar for my steamed fish.
- Anything you like to get from Huber’s that
elevates your fish to the next level?
I’ve found that Huber’s steak butter garlic goes really well
with fish! I would encourage everyone to give it
a try.
- We’re compelled to ask this since it’s the
first month of the year – what would be your new year resolution for 2021?
My resolution is to earn more money and spend less. 😊
