Yue Ming - 1st Mar 2016

When Yue Ming joined us in 2010, he was put in the ham production department. 5 years later, in late 2015, he was rotated to work with the bend-saw, that is, all meat items that need to be cut with the bend-saw are sent to him. You may not find him familiar as he works behind the scenes in the factory at Pandan Loop.

Before relocating to Singapore, he worked in a factory in China producing fillings for egg yolk tarts, a snack popular in China. It was then that he met his wife. A year later, in 2008, they married. At that time, Yue Ming had already moved out of the factory to help out in his family’s mushroom farm in Fujian. In 2010, he and his wife agreed that they would move overseas in search of better employment opportunities. They popped into an employment agency indicating their willingness to relocate to Singapore. Shortly after, both of them came to Singapore and Yue Ming started work at Huber’s while his wife found employment in the eastern part of Singapore.
Yue Ming and his wife return to China to visit their parents and their son once every two years. Their son, who is 9 this year, lives with his parents in China. His wife works the night shift (from 2pm to 2am) while Yue Ming works in the western part of Singapore from 7am to 4pm. As such, they decided to live separately. They meet up over weekends and on their days off to spend time together. Apart from meeting up with his wife, Yue Ming also enjoys watching movies, swimming and having drinks with his younger brother who is also working in Singapore.
