Braised Beef Short Ribs

Ingredients

For 5 servings:

 

For the beef
2kg beef short ribs
170ml apple juice
200ml light soy sauce
200g sugar
100g brown sauce
1.25l water
Olive oil


For the French beans
300g French beans
Garlic, minced
Sea salt and freshly cracked pepper


For the mashed potatoes
500g potatoes
1 head of garlic
1 cinnamon stick
250g butter
Cream

Cooking Method



  1. Mix apple juice, soy sauce, sugar and water in a pressure cooker then add the meat.

  2. Put the lid on and turn on the heat. When it starts to steam, wait 20 minutes then let it rest.

  3. Season with salt and pepper.

 


For the French beans

  1. While the meat is cooking in the pressure cooker, fry the French beans with some garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper.


 

For the mashed potatoes

  1. Boil some water with salt, garlic and cinnamon. Then add potatoes and boil till soft. Then mash with butter and add a bit of cream. Mash until smooth.


To serve

Remove meat from the pressure cooker. Place meat on mashed potato and top with French beans and brown sauce.
