After a hard day of work, I truly enjoy and cherish the time I get to spend with my children. Growing up, I only got to see my dad who was a chef on Sundays and at times on Saturdays. 

 

He worked hard during the week, spending his day off with us and bringing us for sports like tennis. I appreciate the sacrifices of my dad and I’m sure there are many dads out there that work tirelessly for the family as well. 

 

It goes without saying that dads are definitely one of the most important men in our lives. They often have to be a good role model and someone whom we can look up to for guidance, support and protection. Well its time to cook or buy Dad his well-deserved meal and show him your appreciation this upcoming Father's Day!

Meat of the month: Rubli Mathalen

Rubli ham is a specialty with over 100 years of tradition. Smoked ham was already traded by the Romans as a specialty from "from north of the Alps" as "perna fumosa". Nothing  compares to it, and delicate in every way.

Huber’s Relaunch

After 17 years in the business, Huber’s Butchery, a beloved establishment in Dempsey renowned for its gourmet offerings and meaty delights, has undergone a makeover.

 

Our butcher outlet and bistro, spanning 14,000 square feet, now sports a contemporary farmhouse aesthetic, blending neutral grey tones with pops of red and white.

You can find a refined assortment of premium cold cuts, rare meats, luxurious caviar, exquisite truffles, and a wide array of more than 200 cheeses, along with fresh oysters from the sea of Japan.

 

Customers can now order online and self collect after office hours at our refrigerated self-collection locker, with the vending machine next to it grab some drinks and sausages before you head home.

 

We also offer a wide variety of menu options in our bistro, perfect for both lunch and dinner. Experience the culinary skill of our chef, who prepares and serves our meat to suit your palate.

 

As a part of this sustainable ethos, solar panels will be installed by the end of July 2024, generating clean electricity to power 14.2% of the butchery & bistro. For customers, these efforts extend to eco-friendly amenities like charging stations for electric vehicles while shopping or dining, and recycling stations.

 

Huber’s Bistro features a new waterfall garden that's perfect for bistro's takeaways, while a Swiss Alps-themed climbing wall and mini flying fox zipline are available for the little ones at our newly upgraded children's playground.

Emperor Oysters are frozen at harvest using a special Japanese Denba technology. This means when the oysters are defrosted, all the umami goodness and juices remain in the oyster hence we tie it with the rubber band in order not to let these precious juices leak out into the running water. As the oysters are frozen at source, you never get a bad/spoilt piece and an added bonus is the oyster shell opens up when defrosting so you don’t need to use a shucking tool to open it, just a regular butter knife is sufficient.
