Juan Pedro Domerq’s pigs are a unique breed with high taste value (Lampino breed, the purest breed in the Iberian kind). The pigs are raised wild and roam freely. Fed 120 days on acorns, more than double the legal requirement of 60 days, the hams have a more intense and distinctive aroma. The star product is JPD’s 100% Iberico Bellota Ham, completely artisan and limited in production. Fully handmade and natural, between 42 and 52 months curing time in their exclusive cellars in Jabugo. Their maestro jamonero (master ham-maker) is trusted to guarantee the optimum curing point for each piece of ham. He looks at them individually daily in every detail to ensure maximum quality.
Juan Pedro Domecq has been awarded stars and “Best Iberico Bellota Ham” by the Great Taste Award (the most prestigious award in the gourmet world industry) for four consecutive years from 2012 to 2015.
