White asparagus which is often known simply as ‘White gold’ has just
been air-flown in fresh from Germany!
A fun fact to know that over 2,200 German asparagus farmers grow the
‘white gold’ exclusively on 53,000 acres of land, the highest compared to other
vegetables in Germany. These white asparagus make the German’s heart flutter
and they can consume up to 125,000 tonnes a year!
Prized for its delicate, nutty and sweet flavour compared to its green
cousin, you will feel extra satisfied for chewing on the thicker and more
fibrous spring vegetable.
Even though Huber’s Bistro is closed due to the recent tightening of
pandemic measures, you can still satisfy your cravings by venturing to buy the
fresh ones back home and try out this 👉 Huber’s White Asparagus
with Fricassée of mushrooms and poached egg recipe.
